In a Nutshell
At RMIT University's GEElab, we are researching how game design thinking can positively affect and alter architecture & urbanism, mobility, popular media, storytelling, engagement, other sciences as well as society itself.
The artistic research Project RIDE YOUR MIND (Experimental NeuroVR Game) of GEElab's doctoral researcher Jens M. Stober is exhibited as playable Prototype at the ZKM | Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, Germany as part of the big Global Games exhibition. A Let's Play Video is online at the ZKM page.
In the prototype the player can choose between three different pre-recorded EEG singal sequences of Jens' brain. The player can navigate by headmovement through the virtual realtiy experience. The setup including an EEG headset to allow the visitors to fly through their own by EEG brainsignales generated environment is too complicated in the museum. For this reason pre-recorded EEG data is used to allow the players a first sight on the final game RIDE YOUR MIND just by using an Oculus Rift HMD. The player can choose between Jens thinking of fear, love and bananas. The ride of the mind will take approximately 3-5 minutes.
